A Piece of Sky

There was this child,
Not very old,
Who looked at the sky
Blue pink and gold
And wanted a piece
Just a pie-sized slice,
To hold.
He knew just how it would feel.
Treasure heavy it would weigh
And magic, it would change colour
With the day
From light to dark, from blue to grey.
He didn't want to keep it,
Just to borrow,
They could put it back again,
He said,
Tomorrow.
They questioned him with what and why.
The sky,
He said
Was like a dome that fitted the earth
Exactly half-way down.
It drew the horizon,
Outlined the trees,
Held the mountains
And stemmed the seas.
And the tide?
Too many people on one side
Of the world,
East or West, South or North,
Tilted it and made the seas slop back and forth.
And cloud?
Cloud was fog on holiday.
And fog?
Fog was cloud, the other way.
And rainbows?
Rainbows were the ghosts of lights
That people switched off
In the middles of nights.
And...?
He tired of questions
He was ready for bed
He didn't know everything he said.
Their questions really made him sigh
All he had wanted was a piece of sky.
They explained the world to him.
Told him the what and where and why
Of cloud and rainbows, sky and tide
Until he thought his brains were fried.
Then he smiled at them, politely sceptic
After all, their explanation of the world
Was too fantastic

Haiyah why cant we be like a child? Why must we think so deeply? Hmm, i dunno but i guess there are times when i think i need space to grow up and i get irritated when some people try to give me so many explanations...
Anyway, it's a nice poem... liked it ever since i did it for my drama class =) A bit long though....& dreams are nice... =) They keep me going =)

Been stoning all this while and I din study anything the whole weekend!! sigh... went to sch for my NUH project meeting on Sat and it took 3 hrs, after that i was soooo tired i din do anything... Heh, ended up writing my brother's bio essay for him in the night... i must be too bored... but i pity him larh, he's even more stressed than me and he's been camping in his studio since a long time ago.... But i din do much, just wrote a few paragraphs and gave up after that so i just listed down the impt pts for him... Haha...

Ok, i should start studying soon... Yeah happy mugging everyone!!! =)
